New Delhi, October 5 (IANS) In a major success, a southwest Delhi cyber police arrested a notorious fraud, who was running a job scam, targeting unemployed youth with fake proposals for attractive airport jobs.
The accused, known as Manoj, a 33 -year -old resident of Bijwasan, Delhi, was taken into custody after a series of coordinated raids at several places.
According to a press release issued by the South West District Police on Sunday, the accused posted as a representative of the prestigious airport service companies and contacted the job seekers, offering them employment in exchange for registration and documentation fee. A smartphone used in the crime commission has been recovered from its possession.
S. resident of Sector 7, RK Puram S. The investigation was initiated after a complaint filed by Singh, who reported on the NCRP portal that he received a call from an unknown number. The caller identified himself as Manoj, offering him a job at a salary of Rs 35,000 per month with the BWFS company.
Singh, expressing interest, transferred Rs 5,500 through Google Pay as a registration fee. He later received a fake ID card via email and was asked to pay an additional Rs 15,000. However, once the money was transferred, the accused switched off his phone and stopped all contacts.
A case was registered under FIR No. 74/25, Section 318 (4) BNS in PS Cyber in South West District. Given the gravity of crime, a special team led by Deputy Inspector Priyanka, head constable Jai Prakash and CT. Jeetu Ram was formed under the guidance of Inspector Pravesh Kaushik, SHO Cyber Police Station and ACP Vijay Pal Tomar.
The release said that after the three -day intensive technical surveillance and after the field raids in areas including Mahilpur, Rangpuri, Palam and Bijwasan, the accused was finally apprehended. ,
During interrogation, Manoj revealed that he had cheated many persons, each collected between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000. He targeted the financially weak and job seekers, assuming that relatively small quantities will discourage them from reporting fraud to the police.
The accused, a class 8 dropout, is unmarried and was fully alive through such fraud activities.
The case has now been worked with the arrest of the accused, but the investigation is still going on to identify and reach other potential victims of their scam.
