New Delhi, October 3 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday that the safety, education and future of the students of North East in the city is the top priority of his government.
Speaking at the 8th North East Students Festival (Nest Fest 2025) held at Tocora Stadium, CM assured the students and youths of North East living in Delhi that the government is standing firmly with them for their safety, education and future.
He announced that in the coming years, the North East Students Festival will be held on a more large scale in support of the Delhi government.
A statement said that on the occasion, former Army Chief and Governor of Mizoram VK Singh, former National Secretary of BJP and founder of my house founder Sunil Deedar, were also present with other prestigious dignitaries, stated in a statement.
Addressing the youth present at the event, the Chief Minister said that the essence of the whole of India “My Home India” lies in three words.
He praised the rich culture, traditions and natural beauty of the North Eastern states and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the region is now strongly connected to the nation’s mainstream.
Facilities like roads, railways, airports, colleges and IITs have now reached the North Eastern states, which were once called the “last end”, they said.
The Chief Minister assured the students and youth of North East living in Delhi that the city is also their own home.
He praised the traditional dress, sarees and diverse cultural colors of the North Eastern states and said that every state of India symbolizes its unique beauty and pride.
In another development, the Delhi Tourism Department inaugurated the Indraprastha dance festival, a grand confluence of Indian classical dance at the historic Purana Fort complex.
This three -day festival brings together famous artists across the country, which shows their extraordinary talent.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Kapil Mishra said, “One after the other, such magnificent cultural programs are being organized in Delhi. In the last few months alone, Navratri, Garba, and Tees in the grand ceremonies of teej, perhaps for the first time in the history of Delhi for the first time.”
“Today, Purana Fort is a witness to this dance festival. Everything we see here is not only a glimpse of dance, but also a confluence of diverse and prosperous cultural traditions of India. This festival is a strong medium to connect future generations with art and culture. I appeal that our civilizations, traditions and history in Delhi should also be exposed.
