Jaipur, October 3 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has announced a festive gift for government employees and pensioners by approving a 3 percent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and inflation relief (DR) ahead of Diwali.
This decision follows the announcement of the Center for DA growth for central government employees earlier this week.
While working immediately on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the proposal of the Finance Department was approved on Friday.
With this approval, DA and DR for state government employees and pensioners under the Seventh Pay Commission will increase from 55 percent to 58 percent.
This decision will directly benefit 8 lakh employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners, including employees of Panchayat Summites and District Councils.
As per the order, employees will receive the revised DA in cash with the salary of October 2025 payable in November.
Additionally, outstanding for three months – from July to September 2025 – General Provident Fund (GPF) accounts of employees will be credited.
On the other hand, pensioners will get their revised inflation relief dues in cash from July 1, 2025.
The Rajasthan government emphasized that this step reflects its sensitivity to the welfare of employees and pensioners, ensuring financial relief on time before the festive season.
The move is expected to put an annual financial burden of about Rs 1,230 crore on the state treasury, but the government has called it an essential and people-focused decision.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the government is committed to the protection of the interests of employees and retired people, who make the backbone of the state’s administrative and service machinery.
Da Hike, declared just before Diwali, is expected to bring a celebration of celebrations for millions of families across Rajasthan.
