Hazaribagh, 3 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi chief Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has changed the status and connectivity of Tetaria village in Ichak block of Hazribagh district in Jharkhand.
Once neglected due to a seriously dilapidated road network, the village is now connected to a newly built Pucca (Pucca) road under the scheme – a change that has brought significant improvements in the lives of residents.
Until some time ago, the villagers hesitated to step outside their homes due to poor road conditions. Today, they can easily access block offices and other essential services. The new road has benefited from about half a dozen from nearby villages, which is safe and more convenient for all.
Ravi Shankar Kumar, a local resident, told IANS that the road was in very bad size, causing the village to be cut for decades. “People were afraid to get out, especially after the darkness. The area would be completely uninhabited in the evening. Patients and pregnant women had to face huge difficulties in reaching hospitals. But now, with the new road, life is normal. Life is normal. People are now afraid to travel and easily connect with the city,” he said.
Another villager, Ashish Soni, echoed similar feelings. He said, “For years, reaching Tetaria felt as a big challenge. During the rainy season, the road will be almost irrelevant, and transporting patients was a bad dream. But thanks for the new road built under PMGSY, thanks for the new road, all these issues are behind us now,” he said, expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He said, “It is only because of that the road was possible. Now people can travel from one place to another in a very short time.”
The village head (head), Anita Devi also praised the scheme, called it a significant turn in the development of Tetaria. “The villagers have been waiting for a good road for many years. It is only due to the village Sadak scheme that it has become possible. Now children can easily go to school, farmers can reach markets, and women have access to health services on time,” she said.
