Dame Sara is the former chief nursing officer of the government for England, who has become the youngest holder of the role, especially as a cancer nurse.

He studied at the University of South Bank University, London and Hathrop College, London at the South East Institute of Theological Education. He is currently a London bishop.

When making history as the first woman in the role, she will be seen as a safe pair by many people given their broad experience.

He was held in 2001 and left his official post as the Chief Nursing Officer in the Health Department in 2004, taking a full -time ministry in London Boro, Sutton.

He was made a dame in 2005 in the recognition of his outstanding contribution to nursing and midwifery.

When the London bishop was named in 2017, he said while talking about his separate career that he feels “always had a verification: to follow Jesus Christ”.

He said at that time: “I am often asked what it is for two careers, first in NHS and now in the church.

“I like to think that I always have the same volume: to follow Jesus Christ, to know him and to know him, always try to live with compassion in service to others, whether it is a nurse, a priest, or a bishop.”

While the Archbishop of Canterbury is automatically given a seat at the House of Lords, Dame Sara has a place since 2018 as a senior bishop.

He said: “I know that whatever we have proposed further is not enough for almost many people, but far away for others.”

In his role in blessing, he said that he would “be the conversation (with a couple), and of course there are prayers within the suit (of prayers) that I will use”.
