Bhopal/Indore, 3 October (IANS) In a serious continuity of tragedies related to immersion in Madhya Pradesh, a fatal accident occurred in Anjangaon village under Pandana police station in Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh. A DJ (disc jockey) vehicle lost control and entered a group of devotees participating in an idol immersion procession, killing one youth and injuring four others.
The incident took place on Thursday. A police officer said that the deceased, identified as Ramdas, died on the spot while dancing on DJ music during the procession.
These incidents have reduced the total number of deaths across Madhya Pradesh to 17 in just two days, increasing serious concerns about security measures during religious processions.
Another procession rapidly came from behind the DJ vehicle and hit the group, triggering chaos and terror. Locals raced to save the injured and were taken to Pandana Health Center, where two were later sent to Khandwa District Hospital due to significant injuries.
The driver of the DJ vehicle escaped soon after the accident. In a boom of anger, the villagers set the parked DJ vehicle.
The police force led by CSP Abhinav Barang, Tehsildar Mahesh Solanki, and Mogat Ti Dhairesh Dharwal, quickly reached the site and managed to control the situation. He visited the district hospital to assess the condition of the injured and the post -mortem system for the deceased.
Meanwhile, in Shahdol district, two youths were tragically drowned in the river during immersion rituals, adding malignant deadly deadly tolls.
Local authorities have started investigating both incidents.
A search operation is going on to locate the absconding DJ driver. The police have appealed to the public to remain calm and cooperate in the investigation.
The chain of accidents has provoked a fresh debate on the need for strict regulation of immersion processions, especially those who include large vehicles and sound systems.
Citizen Samaj Group and local leaders are urging the administration to implement congestion control protocols, vehicle safety checks and designated immersion areas to prevent further tragedies.
11 people, including eight children, were killed in an incident related to Goddess Durga Idol immersion, while two others died in a separate but similar incident when a tractor trolley drowned in a river near the trolley Ujjain.
