Former Iowa Superintendent accused the federal firearms after arrest of immigration

The prosecutors said that the superintendent of the district’s largest school district, who was detained by immigration agents last week, was charged with firearm in the federal court on Thursday, while illegally in the US, the prosecution said.

Ian Roberts resigned as Superintendent of Des Mine’s schools this week, pulled up a few days later and ran away from the US immigration and customs enforcement agents, who eventually arrested him with the help of officials from the Iowa State Patrol. When he was arrested, the federal agents found a handgun, wrapped in a towel inside the jeep Cherokee, which he was running, according to the court papers.

Roberts’ lawyer, Alfredo Parish said that his clients would not be guilty.

“Our status at this time – he estimates innocence,” Parish said. Parish said, “He will exercise his right to point out in court, if he is convicted, he is not guilty,” Parish said, saying that, saying that the Grand Jury has not returned.

Federal officials said Roberts had a final expulsion order issued last year, and an immigration judge denied a proposal to reopen Roberts’ immigration case in April this year. In the complaint released on Tuesday, it was alleged that Roberts had a final expulsion order in a separate car at his residence.

Roberts was under the assumption to a former lawyer that his immigration case was “successfully resolved,” his lawyer said.

“It is my pleasure to represent you in this process, and I am happy to say that your case has reached a successful resolution,” Texas Attorney Jacqueline Gonzalez wrote on 27 March.

A Gonzalaz colleague on Tuesday confirmed the Associated Press that the law firm represented Roberts but did not immediately comment.

Gonzalez spoke to the federal officials earlier this week and said that the letter he had sent, had informed Roberts that “the immigration case was being closed with the office of Gonzalez,” according to the court papers. Roberts had an unpaid legal bill with his office.

“Gonzalez said that the letter was not intended to reveal” that his case with the court was completed, the court documents said.

Gonzalaz refused to tell the authorities, however, to reopen their case about their communication with Roberts, about the refusal of the exhibition of the Immigration Judge with Roberts, which was sent to his office.

Officials said a gun, which was found under the seat of the driver of his school-zari vehicle, when he was arrested, it was believed that a pistol was bought by Roberts’s wife, the officials said. The other three – a pistol, a rifle and a gun – were found during the discovery of Roberts’ house, the complaint said, and all were allegedly loaded.
