Bhopal, October 2 (IANS) set a shocking incident in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning when unknown miscreants set fire to the effigy of Ravana before the Scheduled Dussehra festival.
The incident took place at 6 am at Bagmugalia Extension Ground, where the Atal Dussehra Utsav Samiti organized a grand Ravana Dahan ceremony.
State Minister Krishna Gaur was expected to attend the event in the evening.
According to eyewitnesses, a young man arrived in a new red car without a license plate and appeared under the influence of alcohol. He was with several girls and was allegedly revolving around the region for some time, suddenly before installing the effigy.
The scene ran immediately after the Group Act, leaving the stunned people left behind and a half-lamp mannequin.
A video of this incident has gone viral on social media, to capture the moment when the flames were engaged in flames.
The footage has expressed displeasure among the local residents and the organizers of the festival, who expressed deep disappointment over the disintegration of a symbolic and culturally important event.
Ravana Dahan was determined for the evening, and premature burning has not only ruined the center of the celebration, but has also raised serious concerns about public safety and security.
The Dussehra Utsav Samiti (Committee) immediately informed the police. The police has started an investigation.
Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and social media videos to identify criminals. Preliminary reports suggest that the Act was deliberately entered into and with the intention of vandalizing the incident.
