Srinagar, 2 October (IANS) J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday claimed that the government of Jammu and Kashmir is promoting Swadeshi in domestic industries and promoting the father of Mahatma Gandhi’s mission.
“J&K government is promoting the vision of Bapu’s Swadeshi by establishing domestic industries. On this Gandhi Jayati, I appeal to everyone, we adopt Swadeshi in our lives,” he said while addressing students, teachers and others during the Gandhi Jayati program at the Sher-E-Kashmir International Conference in Srinagr.
He said that Bapu saw a ray of hope in Jammu and Kashmir and prayed to the country to show light to the country.
He also urged people to actively contribute to peace, development and self -sufficiency.
He emphasized the importance of embracing Swadeshi’s concept to promote self-reliance and economic development in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Jammu -Kashmir is progressing towards self -reliance and development. We all need to work together and collectively Gandhi wanted to see peace in Jammu and Kashmir to change J&K. Now the youth of Jammu and Kashmir have to fulfill the dream of Gandhi’s peaceful Kashmir,” he said.
He said that Seva Parv Swachh Pakhwada is ending, but we continue with this cleanliness drive throughout the year.
He said, “Bapu used to say, it is a change that you want to see in society. In 1921, he said that he wanted to see his country taking challenges, and in the last 11 years, PM Modi has completely changed the country,” he claimed.
He also claimed that fifty crore people have been covered by the government under life insurance schemes, saying that India has become the second largest manufacturer of smartphones.
He carried forward various community initiatives across Jammu and Kashmir, including tree plantation drives, environmental awareness campaigns, wall paintings, hygiene drives and drug de-addiction programs.
