Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the former Prime Minister on his birth anniversary.
The Chief Minister paid tribute to flowers on the paintings of the two leaders in the Gorakhnath temple and recalled his invaluable contribution to the nation. He said that the double-engine government in the state was working to feel the dreams and vision of Bapu and Shastri.
Recalling Mahatma Gandhi, CM Yogi said, “Under his leadership, India demonstrated the power of truth and non -violence to the world during the independence movement.”
He emphasized that Swadeshi was central to see Gandhi, serving as an integrated force in the fight against foreign rule and today, it has become a model for both India and the world in reagging Bapu’s vision.
The Chief Minister said that the One District of Uttar Pradesh, ODOP scheme is inspired by the spirit of Swadeshi and is achieving remarkable success. He further said that Swadeshi is no longer limited to Khadi, but has become a part of India’s everyday life.
“From chips to ships, India is moving towards self -sufficiency,” he said.
He said that modeling indigenous fairs will be organized in every district before Diwali after the recently held international trade show. He also urged people to gift Khadi and other indigenous goods during Diwali.
“This will not only honor the artisans and craftsmen, but will generate employment, promote self -reliance, and strengthen the country’s economy,” he said.
CM Yogi emphasized the cleanliness of Mahatma Gandhi and cited success under the Swachh Bharat Mission, which as an ideal tribute to Bapu’s mission.
“Under the mission, 12 crore toilets have been constructed across the country, which can protect women from dignity, health, and financial stress,” he said. Today, cleanliness has become our identity and brand of India, “he said.
Paying tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, CM Yogi described him as a frontline Freedom Fighter, a true Gandhian and a staunch lawyer of self -reliance.
He remembered how Shastriji gave the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’, which strengthened India’s resolve for self -reliance while maintaining the country’s commitment to the country’s peace.
The Chief Minister said, “At the same time, Shastriji made it clear that if the war was forced to India, the country would give an answer.”
He further said that the decisive victory in the 1965 war led by Shastriji showed India’s strength before the world.
