Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday intensified its attack on the DMK government on Karur’s Stagade tragedy, killing 41 people, demanding an inquiry into a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and accused of reflecting former minister Senthil Balaji on the ruling party.
In a strong statement statement, BJP state spokesperson Ans Prasad said that DMK was entangled in killing democracy by supporting “money and deceit politics and deceit” instead of facing people on real issues “.
He alleged that St.hil Balaji, who was facing allegations of corruption, “had no moral right to speak about public life” and his recent press conference aims to distort the facts and attract attention from the tragedy.

Prasad called for Chief Minister MK Stalin to work beyond political views and to expose the “true conspiracy” behind the stampede and announce a CBI inquiry to give justice to the families of the victims.
He warned that the BJP “would continuously expose the betrayal of the people of Tamil Nadu” and pursue legal accountability for those responsible.
The BJP also criticized the state government’s quick step for the establishment of a member commission under the retired High Court Judge Aruna Jagadisin, calling it an attempt to avoid public anger.
“Why are the Senthil Balaji Commission trying to pre-fasting and feed misleading stories?” Prasad asked.
Highlighting the discrepancies in Balaji’s statements, the BJP said that the former minister had effectively confirmed allegations of corruption in the state’s TASMAC liquor outlet operated by the former minister since 2021.
Prasad said that Chief Minister Stalin should explain these irregularities to the public.
The party announced that a team of Tamil Nadu’s National Democratic Alliance (NDA) directed by BJP national president JP NADDA would submit a detailed report to the Center, urging a judicial inquiry about a Supreme Court in administrative laps.
The Union Home Ministry has already sought a report from the Tamil Nadu government from the Tamil Nadu government after the Prime Minister’s condolence message and emergency relief for the families of the victims.
