Women celebrate ‘Sindhor Khela’ as the marking of Vijayadashami of Durga Puja

New Delhi: Women across India enthusiastically celebrated the traditional ritual of ‘Sindoor Khela’ on Vijayadashami on Thursday, which mark the conclusion of the nine -day Durga Puja Festival.

Women devotees said that since Maa Devi stays among her devotees before returning to her astronomical house for nine days, the ritual is performed to pray for eternal marital bliss and to seek the return of Goddess next year.

In Delhi, Maya Durga Mataji was bid farewell to Durga Puja Pandal in Mayur Vihar Charan 1, East Delhi. Prior to formal immersion, puja rituals were organized, after which women celebrated sindoor for each other for each other. Devotees reiterated that this custom is a symbol of their prayers for permanent marital happiness and an optimistic reunion with the goddess the next year.

In Ranchi, on Vijayadashami, women from the Bang community implemented sindoor for each other in the Durga temple ground in Durgabari. The ritual was a prayer for eternal marital bliss. Devotees shared that since Maa Durga deprived the demon Mahishasura, the vermilion game celebrated its victory – the victory of good over evil. In Kolkata, the morning of Dashami, rituals of Division and Sindoor Khela were organized in various pandals and residential complexes across the city. The early morning began in the morning at places like Urbana Housing Complex along with the major puja pandals of Kolkata.

The shells of the conch shells, ululudhwani, and the rhythmic beats of drums filled the pandals, creating an emotional atmosphere among the devotees. Traditionally, women dressed red and white saree clothes, applying vermilion to her forehead for the first time bid farewell to Goddess Durga. They then shone with enthusiasm with each other, their faces, saris and the whole atmosphere in Sindoor Khela.

At the Urbana Housing Complex in Kolkata, a crowd of men and women gathered in the morning. The farewell ceremony began with prayer and sweets to the goddess. Later, the women immersed themselves in vermilion, filled the entire campus with joy as people embraced and exchanged greetings.

From South Kolkata to northern Kolkata, the same hearty view was played everywhere. From big pandals to small neighborhood worship committees, devotees were immersed in emotions. Devi’s departure was met with an expectation expectation, the popular avoidance was infiltrated, “Ache Bochor Abar Hob” (“This will be again next year”).

The famous Durga Puja Festival of Bengal is widely celebrated for the joyful spirit that brings with the blessings of Maa Durga. From traditional tune dance (incense dance) to elegant white saree with red border, this festival has gained immense popularity throughout India.
