Governor of Telangana, Bapu Ghat in CM Pay Tribute in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 2 October (IANS) Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Verma and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy paid tribute to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi at Bapu Ghat on his birth anniversary on Thursday.

He paid floral tributes at Langer Hauz here at Bapu Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were submerged at the confluence of Mussi and ESI rivers.

The Governor and the Chief Minister paid their honors in the tomb and later showering petals of flowers on the statue of the nation’s father.

Telangana Legislative Council President Gutta Sukhinder Reddy, Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Gaud, Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and other top officials also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

Mlas, MLCs, government advisors and other leaders also participated in the program.

Leaders participated in all the belief prayer meeting in the prayer hall, which features more than 400 pictures of 76-feet long collages.

The Chief Minister also acted as ‘X’ to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, called him a symbol of truth, non -violence and tolerance.

The Chief Minister also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Lal Bahadur Shastri on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Revanth Reddy Recalled that Lal Bahadur Shastri Awakened the Nation with the Slogan ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.

KT Ram Rao, executive president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), also paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. In his post on ‘X’, the former minister said that Mahatma Gandhi showed us that truth and non -violence are the strongest weapons.

Ram Rao said, “These very ideals have inspired and strengthened the struggle for Telangana. His feeling of perseverance keeps guiding us in our journey. His philosophy can always illuminate the path of our country’s progress. Remembering the father of the nation on his birth anniversary,” Ram Rao said.
