New Delhi, 2 October (IANS) On the occasion of Gandhi Jayati and the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, Congress leaders and MPs paid tribute to two of India’s most revived data, who are doing for people who incite their ideals for today.
Rahul Gandhi, in a message shared on the social media platform X, honored Mahatma Gandhi’s permanent heritage, described him as a moral compass, who stitched India simultaneously through the formula of truth, non -violence and harmony.
He said, “Bapu’s ideal, which unite India through the principles of truth, non -violence and harmony, will continue to motivate us to follow the path of peace, brotherhood, truth and humanity in front of hatred.”
His tribute echoed with the spirit of teachings of Gandhi, reminding the citizens that the path of non -violence and Satyagraha is as relevant today as it was during the freedom struggle.
His sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, while echoing the spirit of remembrance, paid tribute to the Lal Bahadur Shastri, whose leadership and simplicity left an indelible mark on the nation.
In his tribute posted on X, he wrote, “Former Prime Minister of India, respectable tribute to Lal Bahadur Shastri, on his birth anniversary, who gave the country a new direction with the slogan of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’.
His words reflected Shastri’s calm strength and his ability to motivate him through action rather than rhetoric.
Congress President Mallikrajun Kharge said: “Hearty greetings to all the countrymen on Gandhi Jayanti.
In a post on social media Paltform X, he said: “The ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the great architect of the Indian freedom movement and the father of the nation, who showed the path of peace to the whole world through the highest values like truth, non-violence and Satyagrah, would always be a source of inspiration for us.
Across the country, political leaders, civil society groups and citizens marked the day with prayer meetings, cleanliness drives and cultural programs.
The idols of Gandhi and Shastri were decorated with garlands, and their teachings resonated in schools and public places.
