‘Insult to Mahatma Gandhi’: RSS on Udit Raj ‘centenary celebrations

New Delhi, 2 October (IANS) senior Congress leader Udit Raj on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Rashtrapatti Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) at the ceremonies at his centenary celebrations, describing it as a “terrorist organization”, which promoted the responsible ideology for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.

He said that it was “unfortunate” and “derogatory” that on Gandhi Jayanti, the birthday of the ‘father of the nation’, an “anti-national organization” was being glorified.

In 1925, Dr. The RSS established by KB Hedgewar is marking 100 years of its installation. This year’s centenary observation matches both Vijayadashami and Gandhi Jayanti.

Talking to IANS, Raj said, “I greet people on Vijayadashami. But it is unfortunate that a terrorist organization is also being glorified. People who actually follow the ideals of Lord Ram, they are wondering what is happening. The way Mahatma Gandhi’s organization is deep, it is deeply saddened.

He further emphasized that the RSS and “its ideology was responsible for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.”

“Today, October 2, Gandhi is Jayati, the day we respect the ‘father of the nation’, who has brought freedom in the country. It is very unfortunate that on his birthday, the centenary of a killer organization is being celebrated,” he said.

Criticizing the release of a memorial postage stamp and coin to mark the RSS centenary, Raj said, “Violent people are reminiscent of postage stamps and a coin today. It is a big insult to Mahatma Gandhi. First, he killed Gandhiji, and no longer a role in an attempt.”

Accusing Saingh of exclusion practices, Raj commented, “I would like to say that the RSS is not for all Hindus. If it was an organization for Hindus, then why is its main Brahmin? The chief is never a backward or Dalit community or a woman. The RSS is an opponent and an terrorist organization.”
