YSRCP leader Midhun Reddy says I was treated like a terrorist in jail

Tirupati, October 1 (IANS) YSR Congress Party floor leader in Peddddi Midhun Reddy in the Lok Sabha, an accused in an alcohol case, who was released on bail, on Wednesday alleged that he was treated as a terrorist in jail.

Addressing the media persons here, Midhun Reddy said that he was not afraid of the false case registered against them by the NDA government -led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh.

He accused the coalition government of resorting to diversionary politics by filing cases against YSRCP leaders. He said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) always used such a strategy whenever it came to power.

The Rajampet MP, who was arrested on July 19 in a liquor scam case and was released from Rajhmundari Jail on Tuesday after bail by the ACB court in Vijayawada, said that the attempt to file false cases by the coalition government’s efforts to intimidate the opponents was a stupidity.

Midhun Reddy said that even during 2014-19, false cases against him were booked when TDP was in power.

He alleged that he was treated as a terrorist, denied basic facilities and the court kept separation until interventing. According to him, the jail authorities had kept him under 24-hour CCTV surveillance, banning his communication and worked under heavy political pressure.

Midhun Reddy alleged that the coalition government was deliberately using such false cases to draw attention from its administrative failures. He explained that whenever public dissatisfaction increased, the ruling party would bring out unrelated issues and record false cases to transfer the focus.

The MP thanked YSRCP President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and party employees for supporting him during difficult times.

He noticed that such cases could cause pain to his parents, but would not weaken their determination. Instead, Midhun Reddy said he was legally ready to face every challenge and strengthen his relationship with people.

He said that the coalition’s conspiracy would not be successful, as false cases can provide temporary satisfaction to TDP leaders, but will not get any political results.
