New Delhi, October 1 (IANS) CBI court, Ahmedabad has sentenced an accused person to three years imprisonment in a financial misuse case.
According to the central agency, on September 30, 2025, the CBI court convicted and sentenced the accused person, adorned livelihood, then Assistant Manager (Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Rajkot to undergo a three -year rigorous imprisonment (RI) with a fine of Rs 90,000 in terms of financial misuse.
On November 21, 2011, the CBI registered the case immediately based on a complaint with CVO, IOCL, New Delhi, alleging that financial misuse of Rs 18.90 lakh was done by IOCL, Rajkot officials during the period 2005 to 2008.
The CBI said in a press statement, “The investigation into vigilance revealed the active role of Mrs. Sajeev, the then Assistant Manager (Finance), IOCL, Rajkot and Mr. Sandeep Harendrabhai Jani, AO-IOCL, Rajkot.”
According to the CBI, the investigation has revealed that, “IOCL’s Finance Department, Rajkot, was creating GL Cash Impa Rest Account to pay cash.”
“The GL Cash Impress Impament was used to pay petty cash. Sajev was in charge/custodian in charge/custodians of GL Cash Impress Impa Rest Account of Account of Account of Accounts (Finance), IOCL, Rajkot for only one time.”
Investigation revealed that during the year 2003 to 2008, IOCL, working as Assistant Manager (Finance) at the Rajkot Divisional Office, was cheated by the accused from the General Impa Rest account.
After investigation, the CBI filed a charge sheet on September 30, 2013, in which criminal violations for criminal conspiracy against the accused, criminal violations of public faith, forgery of valuable documents, forgery for the purpose of cheating, used for fake documents as real and criminal misconduct.
After the trial, the CBI court convicted and sentenced the accused.
