Sangh is a virtuous avatar of eternal national consciousness: PM Modi in RSS centenary celebrations

New Delhi, 1 October (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended the centenary celebrations of the Rashtur Sveamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said that the organization is a “virtuous avatar” of a “eternal national consciousness”, which has touched every aspect of the nation.

Dr. Established in Nagpur in 1925 by Keshav Baliram Hedarwar, the RSS began as a volunteer-managed organization, which was committed to nurturing cultural awareness, discipline and social responsibility among the citizens. In the last 100 years, the RSS has developed in one of the most influential socio-cultural organizations in India.

RSS General Secretary (Sarkariv) Dattatreya Hosabale, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta were also present during the event.

The Prime Minister started his address by paying tribute to BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra, who died on Tuesday at the age of 93. He also paid tribute to Keshav Baliram Hedwar.

Dr. in New Delhi Addressing the event at Ambedkar International Center, PM Modi said, “Today is the day of Goddess Siddhidati, and I expand the wishes of my Navratri on this occasion. Tomorrow is Vijayadashami, a festival, which is a festival, which is good for good, Justice, Truth of Burlests, and light. The establishment of RSS as an organization was not a coincidence as an organization.”

He said, “From time to time, national consciousness emerges in various forms to deal with the challenges of that particular period. In this era, the Sangh is a virtuous avatar of that eternal national consciousness. It is our generation privilege that we are witness to the Sangh’s centenary witness,” he said.

The Prime Minister also released a specially designed memorial postage stamps and coins, highlighting the RSS’s contribution to the nation.

“In a coin of 100 rupees, on one side there is a national symbol and on the other side, along with the image of Bharat Mata’s Varada Mudra, a lion and Swayamsevak said with all the dedication.

PM Modi said, “The special postal stamp launched today also has its importance. We know the importance of the parade during the Republic Day celebrations. In 1963, Swamsevax of the Sangh also participated proudly in the Republic Day Parade. This postal stamp has an image of that historical moment,” PM Modi said.

He said, “The way humans live on the banks of a river, many Jeevan have flourished with the stream of the association. The Sangh has touched every aspect of this country,” he said.

The Prime Minister said, “The RSS has many sub-organizations, but all are united with a purpose-‘President I’ (Nation First). No two sub-organizations do not contradict or struggle with each other,” the Prime Minister said.

In the last century, the RSS and its affiliated organizations have made significant contribution in areas such as education, health, social welfare and disaster relief.

RSS volunteers have played an important role in response efforts during floods, earthquakes, cyclones and other natural disasters, which often serve on the relief and rehabilitation front.
