Bhopal, September 30 (IANS) Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel has appointed Milind Dattraya Dandkar as ‘Kulguru’ in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.
Dandekar has been appointed as the ‘Kulguru’ of the state’s Open University for a period of four years from the date of charging till the age of 70 years.
According to the order issued, the terms and rules of their service will be controlled by the university’s ordinance 1-A.
The statement said, “Dandekar has been appointed as the Department of Industrial Production Engineering at Govindram Sexaria Institute of Technology and Science in Indore, Dandekar has been appointed as the Kulguru of Madhya Pradesh Bhoj (Open) University.”
BHOJ Open University in Bhopal has been in dispute over alleged irregularities in the appointment of professors and other employees for the last few years.
It was alleged that experts from other subjects were called to select some subjects, which was illegal.
The case related to alleged irregularities in appointment during 2015 reached before the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
In April this year, the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered the cancellation of appointments made in 2015 in several posts including professors at BHOJ Open University.
The court has said that the selection committee did not investigate the educational records of each applicant thoroughly.
Some columns of marks were left empty by the committee without any clarification.
The High Court found the selection process highly flawed.
The division bench, reversing the single bench order, directed to issue new advertisements for appointments.
The court had also noticed that by giving top marks to the candidates in the interview, other eligible candidates with better academic records were ignored, which showed bias.
