Odisha Minister slams Congress more than the 26/11 attack response

After the revelation of Chidambaram, 30 September (IANS), the then United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government considered military vengeance after the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, but due to American pressure and diplomatic advice, Odisha Law Minister Prethiviraj Harichandan, Odisha Law Minister Prethiviraj Harichandan, said that he took the same revelation as a former Union Home Minister.

Talking to media persons, the Odisha Minister has said that Chidambaram’s statement highlighted the weakness of the then Congress government.

Harichandan said that during the 10 -year rule of the Congress -led UPA government, he worked under some unknown pressure and took the decisions that compromised the security of the country.

The minister also said that Chidambaram has finally accepted the matter, and Rahul Gandhi should now come forward and accept.

On the other hand, the BJP -led state government launched a brilliant attack on the Congress, demanding an apology from Chidambaram and Sonia Gandhi.

Reacting to Chidambaram’s comments, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “It is not shocking at all. We have been saying this for a long time. It was his weakness. Why did Chidambaram remember all this suddenly after so many years?”

In an interview recently, Chidambaram said, “Two or three days after taking charge as the Union Home Minister, the then US Secretary Kondoleja Rice came to meet me and the Prime Minister, ‘Please do not react.’ I said that this is a decision for the government.

The senior Congress leader also revealed that the then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had discussed the possible retaliation, while the terrorist attacks were still going on.

However, the UPA government was eventually advised not to react military military by the Ministry of External Affairs and senior diplomats.
