Rain returns to Rajasthan: Sikar flood, warning of rain from 6-8 October

Jaipur, September 30 (IANS) Unseasonal Varsha surprised several parts of Rajasthan on Tuesday morning, which relieved gendering heat, but triggered waterlogging in low-fold areas.

Meteorological Center, Jaipur has issued a yellow alert for 23 districts including Jaipur and Alwar, which is valid till October 3.

In Sikar, it rained after 22 days, started around 6:30 am, Fatehpur Chhatriya bus stand and Lohru bus stand with about two feet of water, severely affected the passengers and disrupted the bus movement.

Waterlogging was also reported on Nawalgarh Road, while in Srimadopur, there was heavy rains between 8:30 am and 9 pm near the old bus stand.

According to the District Control Room, Fatehpur had recorded 29 mm of rain till morning. Ajmer also saw heavy rains, especially around 10:30 am in Kishangarh, for the flow of water in the old city and the adjacent colonies.

The reports of the Water Resources Department have highlighted the rains of significant monsoon in the entire region so far, including 747 mm in Rupangad, 748 mm in Kishangarh, 699 mm in Bandersindri and 822 mm in Arani subdivision.

In Dausa district, Sikarai and Mahuva started raining around 12:30 pm, which increases the possibilities of very important relief and promotion for mustard sowing.

Bikner recorded a drizzle at 5 am in the morning, in which meteorologists later predicted heavy rains in areas such as Nokh and Deshkok during the day.

Other districts including Nagaur, Pratapgarh, Dungarpur, Jodhpur, Bundi and Banswara also received light till moderate rainfall from Monday night. Udaipur City, meanwhile, experienced a cold sky and a cold air on Tuesday after strong winds in the previous evening.

Meteorologists credits widespread rainfall for the formation of a low pressure system in the Arabian Sea, after a uniform development in the Bay of Bengal earlier this week.

With dense cloud cover and intermittent rainfall for the next three days, authorities have urged the residents to be vigilant, especially in flood-prone and low-level areas.

Director of the department from Jaipur Radheshyam Sharma said, “A well-marked low-pressure area is maintained on the Kutch region, while a trough in the lower atmospheric levels is active in northwest Rajasthan, the Meteorological Department said today. Jodhpur, and some areas of Bikaner Division.

“There is a possibility of heavy rains at Shekhavati and its surrounding isolated places. Lightly liberal rains, thunder, expected to continue in some parts of the state in the next 3-4 days. Further, looking further, a new low-open system is likely to be constructed from the Bay of Bengal within the next 24 hours. 6-8.”

The Meteorological Office has advised the residents, especially in low-to-death and flood-confident areas, to be cautious, conditions remain favorable for heavy rains in some districts. While the rains have disrupted normal life in some cities, they have given very important relief to farmers and residents to eagerly wait for the cooler season.
