TVK’s Karur Union Secretary arrested as a stamped investigation

Karur, 30 September (IANS) Police has investigated the tragic Stamped at the Tamilga Vatri Vai Kajhgam (TVK) rally of actor-royalty Vijay, so far arrested another major party’s work, intensifying the investigation of a stampede that claims 41 lives.

On Tuesday, Karur police detained TVK Central City Secretary Ponraj, which was just a day after the arrest of Mathiazgan, West District Secretary of the party.

Both arrests come as part of the investigation as to whether Laps contributed to the deadly crush in mob management and permissions.

The stampede occurred when thousands of people gathered after speaking in Veluham Palam on the same day after their Namakkal Roadsho.

Initially, DSP Selvaraj was appointed as the investigating officer, but the state police headquarters later replaced him with additional SP Premanand to lead the investigation.

Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed deep grief and assured full support to the families of the victims.

He said, “This tragedy is unbearable. TVK founder Vijay, blind shaking, announced a compensation of Rs 20 lakh for each bereaved family and urged his supporters to be peaceful.

With Ponraj’s arrest, the police have indicated a deep investigation into the event management failures and potential negligence within TVK’s organizational structure, as as public and political pressure for justice.
