Retail prices show 1.4% inflation last month – but food prices may be at its peak
Currently (although certainly concerned), outside the UK economic data, the shows of the British Retail Consortium (BRC) and the Nielsenian continued to rise in the show prices released today.
In September, the price inflation of annual shop increased to 1.4 percent.
This is an increase by 0.9 percent in August, but the food price inflation ended at 4.2 percent for most of this year’s time.
Other non-food substances were low in late price than a year ago, but returned to about 0.1 percent lower level last month.
BRC CEO Helen Dickinson said: “Home shopping is becoming increasingly expensive. Impact on retail vendors and global factors and their supply chain of both high national insurance and wages are playing in prices for consumers.”

Economy increased rapidly than expected at the end of last year
As mentioned, there is no amendment to the estimates of 2025, but there are some changes for the last year.
Essentially, the economy decreased by the expected ONS in the beginning of 2024, but more than expected to its end.
“During 2024 as a whole, the annual growth is estimated at a 1.1% increase,” said ONS.
This graph should be helped to appear visually.

Why is there a slowdown from Q1 to Q2 in Britain’s economy?
Rachel Reves and the rest of the government are desperate for economic development to set fire to gear, but as the Chancellor noted yesterday, there were some very large external factors to struggle with this year.
However, he has also made many of his own.
The ONS stamp duty indicates the first and second quarters of the year as a major cause for the decline in growth, as people participated through some deals, defeating the purchase of the house.
His statement today said that “some activity was brought forward by February and March 2025, in April, the announcement in stamp duty and to some extent, was announced by the US tariff changes.”

The revised figures strengthen Britain’s performance at the end of 2024
Just to be clear – these figures being released today are not “new” – they are more and more checks and are modified figures from ONS after minor changes in data within each set.
Often they will modify the overall percentage up or down by a zodiac for more true reading based on data, which can be difficult to handle in tight changes for initial readings, usually given around mid -month.
This includes no changes for 2025 so far, but there are minor changes for the previous year, which we will explain in a moment.
Describing the change, Director of Economic Statistics, Liz Mcken said:
“Today’s figures include improvement in our measurement of the economy, including better information about research and development and activities of complex multinational companies with general inclusion of better data sources.
“Development for 2024 as a whole is unpublished, although these new figures suggest that the economy was slightly reduced compared to our early estimates early last year, but later performed better in quarters.
“The quarterly growth rates for 2025 are unpublished.
“We saw an increase in domestic savings ratio in the latest quarter, very low increase in consumer expenditure and slight decline in production for consumer services, despite the increase in services overall.”
