Leh, 29 September (IANS) Leh Apex body said on Monday that talks with the Center would remain suspended until the normal situation in the Ladakh region is restored.
Top body president Thupeston Chewang has appealed to the Center and the UT administration to address “the atmosphere of fear, grief and anger” in the Ladakh region.
He said, “We have unanimously agreed that this situation is currently prevalent, until peace is restored in Ladakh, there can be no talks,” he said.
In the relevant development, the Kargil Democratic Alliance (KDA) has warned the Center that they are separating the people of Ladakh. KDA has demanded that climate activist, Sonam Wangchuk and others should be detained after the recent Leh violence.
KDA is agitating for the state and other demands, with Leh Apex body. The coalition has convicted the UT administration for the death of four people and others, including security forces, have been hurt.
KDA member Sajjad Kargili has demanded an unconditional release of the youth detained after Wangchuk and Leh violence.
Kargilli said that the grant of state and inclusion is ‘non-pervantic’ in the event of the 6th schedule for the Ladakh region.
Four protesters died and more than 70 others were injured on 24 September when an uncontrolled mob resorted to stone pelting and arson. The protesters tortured the CRPF vehicle with the intention of burning the CRPF Jawans sitting inside the vehicle.
The mob tortured the local BJP office and Leh Apex Body’s office besides breaking the DGP vehicle.
Wangchuk was on a hunger strike since September 10, but on September 24, when violence in the city broke out rapidly.
He was arrested under the National Security Act (NSA) and transferred to Jodhpur Jail. MHA also quashed the FCRA registration certificate of the educational and cultural movement of the Wantchuk-established students, citing her gross FCRA violations.
