Karur Stamped shatters the dreams of the young couple’s wedding; TN across TN echoes sorrow and anger

Karur, September 28 (IANS), which was a night of enthusiasm, ended in inexplicable sorrow for two young life in Karur, Tamil Nadu.

During the political rally of Tamilga Vitri Kazgam (TVK) leader and actor Vijay, out of 40 victims of stampede on Saturday night, a childhood girlfriend and soon attached couple, M. During Akash (26) and S. Gokulashree (26).

Akash, an IT professional, and a guest lecturer at the Valluvar College of Science and Management, Gokulsri, was planning to engage the next month and was getting married in January next year.

On Saturday, the couple went to catch a glimpse of “Vijay Anna” with Prabhakaran, the elder brother of Gokulsri.

When the swollen crowd lost control after Vijay’s delayed arrival, he had to wait for hours.

“We were on the roof of a house near the site. When we tried to come down, the crowd increased. My sister told me that I was asked to go away since I recently passed through angioplasty.”

After minutes, Akash and Gokulsri were caught in a crush.

He said, “My mother called at 6 pm on Saturday, but we were asking to return, but we stopped back,” he said, tears.

After the post -mortem, his bodies were handed over to relatives on Sunday morning, and their funeral was later on the same day.

The tragedy has shaken the entire Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister MK Stalin, who reached Karur soon after the incident, called it “unprecedented in the history of the state”.

He announced Rs 10 lakh for each victim’s family and ordered an inquiry under the leadership of retired Justice Aruna Jagadisin.

Chief Minister Stalin said that the report would reveal laps and ensure accountability.

Opposition leader Edappi’s. Palaniswami visited grieving families and criticized the DMK -led state government and police for failing to estimate voting at the rally.

“Despite knowing the size of the crowd, there were no proper safety measures,” he said, urging the strong crowd management protocol.

Actor-royalty Vijay, who initially maintained silence before posting on social media, called the tragedy “an irreparable loss” and announced a solatium of Rs 20 lakh to the families of each deceased victims and Rs 2 lakh for injuries.

TVK chief urged his supporters to be strong during this “heart shattering moment”.

With unimaginable disadvantages in the form of families such as Akash and Gokulasri, Karur mourns one night when the celebration turned into destruction – and the state faces difficult questions about security in political ceremonies.
