Unity, harmony, and the foundation of the synthesis of all religions, ‘Protection of’ conservation of ‘should be our serious’: Bengal CM

Kolkata, September 24 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday, remembering the freedom martyr, Pritilata Vadedar on the anniversary of her death, emphasized the preservation of all religions synthesis in the “present state” of the country.

He said that the country gained independence through immense difficulty.

The Chief Minister said in a social media statement, “The great freedom fighters of our country had imagined an independent nation built on the foundation of unity, harmony and synthesis of all religions. It is our serious vow, retaining that heritage.”

These days, on any occasion, on any such occasion or during the inauguration of any Durga Puja Pandals, the Chief Minister always refers to two issues, or the first communal harmony and the second one of the two, the first communal harmony and the alleged harassment of the Bengali-boat people in Bengali-wide states.

Now, she did the same, remembering Wadeder, one of the leading female revolutionaries of West Bengal, which was actively involved in the armed movement against the then British rule in India.

In his message, the Chief Minister also described the rich heritage of Bengal as the original state of armed revolutionaries of other reputed women, such as Matangini Hazra, Kalpana Dutta, Veena Das and Sunit Chaudhary.

The Chief Minister said, “I always believed that without Bengal, there will not be victory in the freedom movement. Bengal is the backbone of the freedom movement.”

In 1932, Wadeder led a team of Indian armed revolutionaries, now launching an attack on the Paharartley European club in Chittagong in Bangladesh, with a signboard that was “not allowed dogs and Indians” read.
