May be Goddess Ma to influence positivity in everyone’s life: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday greeted the nation on the third day of Shardia Navratri, who was dedicated to Goddess Chandraghant, and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the countrymen.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “The third day of Navratri is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Chandraghant, peace, courage and fearlessness. Goddess Ma’s blessings can affect positivity in everyone’s life.”

He said, “His grace can bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune to my family members across the country.”

He also shared a devotional song, dedicated to Goddess Chandraghant.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also took on social media and wished people on the occasion.

Sharing a ‘verse’ on X, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh said, “On the third day of the holy festival of Shardia Navratri, dedicated to the worship of Mother Durga, the universal mother, Maa Chandraghant gave courage and peace to her devotees and freed them from all the troubles!”

A large number of devotees thrilled temples across the country. People started lining outside the temples in the morning.

On the third day of Navratri, Goddess Durga is worshiped as Mata Chandraghant, which is painted with ten arms, each with a weapon, a lotus flower, or a gesture of blessings (Abhaya Mudra).

She is known for her quiet yet for strong appearance and is believed to have peace, bravery and success to her devotees. There is a half moon on the forehead of the goddess, which is why it is called Chandraghant. She is known to overcome difficulties and give inner strength.

Navri, which means in Sanskrit, ‘Nine this festival is celebrated with great devotion all over India, in which rituals and prayers honor the goddess in various forms.
