Ambatur (Tamil Nadu), 23 September (IANS) A customer from Ambatur has urged that the state-operated dairy federation-real and GST (GST) of Evin-Tamil Nadu, instead of reducing the maximum retail value (MRP) of their products directly to pass the maximum retail value (MRP) of their products, instead of relying on temporary discounts.
Venkatesh, a regular consumer of AAVIN products, appreciated the central government for reducing GST rates on essential commodities. However, he insisted that this step would be effective only when companies like Aavin modify their MRP accordingly.
He said that when Aavin offered discounts on select products after the GST cut, these offers are not permanent and can be withdrawn without any notice. “Instead of offering short -term discounts, Aavin should reduce MRP in all its product lines so that consumers can enjoy constant profit,” he said.
Venkatesh said that the impact of GST reduction should appear in everyday products, especially in the pricing of dairy items. He said, “The middle class will only benefit when the price drop is important and permanent,” he said.
In particular, they called for value rationalization in products such as ghee, butter, cheese and cheese. While some decrease in milk prices have been seen, Venkatesh warned against increasing the prices of other dairy products to offset the deduction. “If the milk is cheaper, but other essential things become expensive, it defeats this purpose,” he said.
Exposing the importance of transparency, Venkatesh urged Aavin to make pricing more consumer-friendly and ensure that the benefits of GST cuts are passed in a fair and constant way.
Their message echoes a comprehensive sense among consumers expecting real -time changes in pricing, as the economy is adjusted to GST modifications.
Earlier, the BJP had also criticized Aavin, stating that Tamil Nadu’s state-driven dairy company was not passed on new GST benefits to consumers. Pattali Makkal Kachi (PMK) leader Anbumani Ramdos also slammed the DMK government to delay the amendment.
