Sitarman to visit Jaipur for ‘Next Jane GST’ campaign on 27 September

Jaipur, 23 September (IANS) Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman will visit Jaipur on 27 September as part of BJP’s nationwide ‘Next Jane GST’ campaign.

During his visit, Sitarman will interact with professionals, including chartered accountants, company secretaries and doctors, to explain the benefits of the revised GST slab, which the Center says will reduce inflation and promote growth.

Meanwhile, party officials confirmed IANS that although Sitarman’s official minute-to-minute schedule has been released, however, his visit to Jaipur on 27 September has been confirmed.

It is necessary to mention here that the changes made by the Central Government in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) slabs came into force across the country from Monday.

The government has claimed that this step will help reduce inflation, increase purchasing power and accelerate growth rate.

To spread awareness, the BJP has launched a nationwide ‘Next Jane GST’ reform campaign.

As part of the campaign, Sitarman will visit Jaipur on 27 September where he will interact with professionals on the issue.

The central government’s attention is to widely promote the revised GST structure to benefit the public, while the party also decides as a major election message.

At the state level, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma inaugurated the ‘GST Bachat Utsav’ on Monday, which will be celebrated in the whole of Rajasthan.

In Jaipur, he visited the Teddy Market, Mansarovar, where he interacted with traders and appealed to him to pass consumers on the benefits of low GST rates.

He said that this step will promote market demand, benefit businesses and public equally.

During his visit, the CM pasted the ‘GST Bathat Utsav’ sticker on shops and showrooms and encouraged citizens to adopt ‘indigenous (domestic)’ products.

He was accompanied by Urban Development and Housing Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra, who appealed to the people to like indigenous goods.

Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Ghansham Tiwari led 1 March in Sangner Market, which started to City Bus Stand and Malpura Gate. The traders and the public welcomed him with drums and trumpets.

Tiwari said that the purpose of Prime Minister Modi’s decision on GST reforms was to strengthen public welfare and it was being celebrated as a festival.

He was joined by Jaipur Mayor Somya Gurjar, Bagru MLA Kailash Verma, Sangner Trade Union Leaders, and Local Residents.

On Sunday, the Chief Minister also organized a video conference with ministers and MLAs, in which he was directed to actively promote ‘GST Bathat Utsav’ in his constituencies.

He instructed public representatives to visit local markets, interact with traders, and spread awareness about how GST benefited consumers.
