2-hour rest: Delhi Ramlela allowed using loudspeakers till midnight

New Delhi, 22 September (IANS) Ramlila committees in Delhi have been given a two -hour discount and from September 22 to October 3 from midnight, loudspeakers/public address systems have been allowed to be used, Environment Minister Meshinder Singh Sirsa said on Monday.

He said that special permission has been given only for Ramilila, Durga Puja, Dussehra and related religious programs, which is subject to compliance with the situation and noise pollution rules.

The order allowing an extended hours of use of loudspeakers was issued, which limited the Lt Governor’s agreements and smooth festivals of generalized permission after the request of the Delhi government in the public interest, after a long demand for years of time-limit.

This decision honors the cultural significance of the festive season, protecting public health and peace, which includes the noise standard at the time of 45 dB (A) at the residential night, the minister said.

Sirsa said, “In view of the long request of Ramlela committees, the government has provided this facility under Chief Minister’s Rekha Gupta.”

As head of Delhi government’s Durga Puja Committee, Sirsa presided over several meetings among other agencies, among other agencies, MCD, PWD, Fourtaricaters and Holtyiculture along with District Magistrate, local representatives and officials.

“Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, the government is ensuring all necessary facilities to ensure the smooth conduct of the festival,” the minister said.

During the day earlier, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta participated in the Kalash Yatra held at the ancient Radha Krishna Temple in Shalimar Bagh.

The CM also visited the Santoshi Mata temple on the jail road, where he ordered the goddess and prayed for the prosperity, health, welfare and security of all Delhi residents.

For the last nine years, Rekha Gupta has regularly participated in this holy Kalash Yatra and considers it a source of spiritual peace and fresh energy every year.

CM Gupta said that Navratri Kalash begins at Stopana, and Kalash Yatra represents its collective tradition. This procession symbolizes devotion and worship of Goddess, where every step resonates with faith, unity and determination.
