Mandya (Karnataka), 22 September (IANS) slammed the ‘Socio-Economic and Academic Survey’, which is also referred to as a caste survey, launched by the Congress-led government in Karnataka, which was the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, R. Ashoka said that Chief Minister Sidramaiya’s Dicte Cast has not officially done.
Speaking at a press conference in Mandya on Monday, Ashok said that caste survey encourages religious adaptation.
“This is a survey that divides the castes. CM Siddaramaiah has created a platform for adaptation … 52 new castes have been included in Christianity to include Vokaliga, Dalits and Vishwakarma communities.
“They can show the number of castes that they want more or less. There are many castes between Muslims and Christians, but they are not revealing them. However, CM Siddaramaiah says that there is discrimination among Hindus. Women are not allowed to enter mosques, and women should wear Berkas. Thus, all religions have discrimination,” they said.
In the state, Lingayat has the highest population, followed by vocaligs. CM Siddaramaiah is trying to change this ratio. He is dividing the Vokaliga community himself. They have created new castes, they said.
It is not possible to survey in fifteen days. People will travel due to Dashera. Therefore, it should be postponed. In addition, the central government is already ready for census. The state government does not have the right to do census, he said.
Talking about GST reforms, Ashok said: “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has reduced GST to provide relief to the people. Daily tax on daily essential things like butter and ghee has reduced by 5 percent. During the UPA government, there was 30 percent tax on cement, TV, washing machine and fridge, which has come at 5 percent. Frequent, which has come up to 5 percent, which has been reduced to 18 percent.
Due to the Congress government in Karnataka, the tax burden has increased, but the PM Modi-desert government has reduced it. This is good news for the poor, he said.
“CM Siddaramaiah and ministers are also getting blame in this. They should explain how to reduce taxes. This government has increased prices of 25 goods and services. Milk, water, vehicle registration, stamp duty – Gabbar Singh tax has been levied in this way. It was alleged that the central government did so.
