Two Maoists neutralized in the operation of security forces in Abujamad region of Chhattisgarh, encounter on (lead)

Officials said Raipur, 22 September (IANS) security personnel have neutralized two Maoists, so far, in an ongoing encounter in Abujamad area in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh, in an ongoing encounter, near Maharashtra border on Monday, officials said.

The identity of the Maoists is yet to be confirmed, and the intelligence teams are working to determine their rank and affiliation.

Security forces have intensified anti-Maoist operations in the dense forests of Abujamad located along the Maharashtra-Chhattisgarh border in Narayanpur.

A joint team of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Border Security Force (BSF) began a search operation this morning, working on a specific intelligence input about the MAOIST appearance, causing a fierce encounter.

Superintendent of Police Robinson Guria said that two Maoists were neutralized in the exchange of fire.

Their body is recovered from the site, with a cash of weapons.

The encounter is still going on, the bullets have been reported from this area.

Security forces continue to comb the area, and further details are expected after the operation is over.

Operation continues the continuity of continuous efforts by security forces to destroy Maoist strongholds in Narayanpur and surrounding districts. Soldiers are deeply entered into internal forest areas, often withstanding hostile terrain and armed resistance.

The current encounter occurred when the Maoists set fire to the upcoming team, causing rapid vengeance.

Officials said that the recovered weapons suggest the presence of a well -armed group in the area.

This year alone, Chhattisgarh has seen the murder of 248 Maoists in various encounters. Of these, 219 were neutralized in Bastar Division, which included Narayanpur. There were 27 Maoist deaths in Gariband district of Raipur Division, while two were killed in Mohla-Manpur-Ambagad Chowki district of Durg Division.

In particular, on 11 September, ten Maoists, including the Modem Balakrishna, a member of a central committee of the banned CPI-Maoist, were killed in Gariband.

The determination of security forces has been outlined to prevent extremism from the region from the ongoing operations in Abujamad.

The authorities have urged the residents to be vigilant and avoid going to the forest areas until the situation is stable.
