Kolkata, 22 September (IANS) The Special Intensive Amendment (SIR) in West Bengal is taking all possible precautions to make the Office of the Chief Election Officer (CEO) foolish next month amid the high possibilities of the Election Commission (ECI) of India (ECI).
Understanding that the booth-level officer (BLOS), as the ground level electoral officials, will play the most important role, the CEO’s office is giving special emphasis on both its conduct as well as security, while they are on field jobs for the modification process.
An internal source in the CEO’s office said that Bloos have been given strict instructions that if they face any intervention or resistance or deliberately do non -cooperation when performing their field exercise, then it should be brought to anyone from any political party or state administrative machinery immediately, such matters should be immediately brought to the CEO office.
The CEO depends on the seriousness and emergency of the case, will take appropriate action as well as, at the same time any intervention, resistance or deliberate reports at the ECI headquarters in New Delhi.
The CEO’s office Insider said, “Based on the recommendations of the CEO’s office, the Commission would recommend strong disciplinary action against any person, political or administrative, blaming Bloss to obstruct his amendment duties completely.”
Similarly, the top officials of the CEO’s office will fully review the security arrangements, which will be provided blossoms while sending SR-related field inspection duties.
“If any scarcked approach is seen to provide a security cover to Bloos, the CEO’s office will bring the case to the ECI notice, and on the basis of this the Commission will then take appropriate action in the case.
The inner source of the CEO’s office said, “Already, strict instructions have come to all CEO offices from the Commission to take extreme precautions to ensure the safety of Blos while sending the field duties.”
Even the Leader of the Opposition in the West Bengal Legislative Assembly, Suvendu Adikari, has repeatedly considering the reminder of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, expressed concern over the safety of Blos, who, at the end of the day, are employees of the state government.
