Kolkata, 22 September (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday extended her desires on the occasion of Navratri.
The annual Hindu festival celebrated in honor of Goddess Durga, Navratri is deeply important in eastern and northeast India, where it coincides with Durga Puja. The festival symbolizes the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura, the demon of the buffalo, which is a symbol of the restoration of religion.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “I expand my hot greetings to everyone on this auspicious occasion of Navratri.”
CM Mamta is actively participating in the Durga Puja ceremony across the state.
On Sunday, he inaugurated several Durga Puja pandals and reiterated his message that peace and harmony could only be strong in an atmosphere of unity. A day earlier, he inaugurated several mandaps and once again highlighted the idea of unity in diversity.
He advised people to be cautious in view of bad weather.
“We have to be cautious. We are keeping an eye on the situation. If there is rain in Jharkhand, Bihar and our state, similarly, if there is a experience of heavy rains in neighboring states, then it is often the result of floods due to release of reservoirs.”
Banerjee announced that she would inaugurate as 3,000 Durga Pujas, most of them virtually ahead of the five -day festival.
He also revealed that 17 songs written by him would be released on Maulaya, which mark the beginning of the Devi Paksha.
On Saturday afternoon, the Chief Minister inaugurated the Hatibgan Durga Puja and Tala protoy worship. Speaking on the incident, she clarified that she would not unveil the idols before Maulaya.
“I am not unveiling the gods, which can only be done with the palace, marking the arrival of the goddess side. I am inaugurating beautiful interiors, reflecting the heritage and aesthetics of Bengal only,” he said.
