Union Minister Shekhawat urged people to celebrate GST savings as a festival, promoting ‘Make in India’

New Delhi, 21 September (IANS) Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to the nation on Sunday, called people to celebrate GST reforms recently as “festival of savings” during Navratri period.

Talking to the media in Jodhpur, Shekhawat said that the announcement of the slab on the essential commodities of the Prime Minister will bring relief to every house and benefit both consumers and traders.

He said, “From the first day of this Navratri to the next nine days, the savings that every family is due to reducing GST on daily use items should be celebrated as a festival. Traders should pass this benefit to consumers, and BJP workers will visit the shops to thank you for doing so.”

The Union Minister also insisted that people should give priority to the purchase of goods ‘made in India’.

Shekhawat said, “Whenever we go to the market, we should proudly buy goods manufactured in India. We should make a part of our daily life ‘and give preference to indigenous products,” Shekhawat said.

Attracting similarities with previous national appeals by the Prime Minister, he recalled how citizens responded with unity during the Kovid -19 epidemic.

“When PM Modi urged people to inspect ‘Janata Curfew’, the whole nation remained inside the house. When he called us light lamps in honor of the frontline warriors, the country burnt like Diwali. Today, they will be hugged with the same spirit to adopt Swadeshi and promote self -reliance,” he said.

Shekhawat underlined that the Prime Minister’s guidance was not only about economic reforms, but about creating a new national atmosphere.
