Beyond the festive season, Haryana DGP reviewed the status of law and order

Chandigarh, September 21 (IANS) Before the onset of the festive season, Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujit Kapoor on Sunday reviewed the law and order situation and discussed action against foreign nationals living illegally in the state, moneylanders, criminals, miscreants and traffic management.

DGP Kapoor directed all the officials to review matters related to illegal foreign nationals residing every week and ensure that strict action is taken.

He directed that a separate cell should be formed in each district for this purpose and directed that action should be taken on the input received.

He directed the officials to send a weekly report to the police headquarters on the matter.

In the meeting, DGP Kapoor reviewed the intense campaign against Moneylender.

Sonipat Police Commissioner Mamta Singh said that the police is getting full support from the public and action is being taken immediately on complaints.

The DGP clarified that the main objective of this campaign is to help the needy and poor people. He said that the moneylenders who take advantage of the help of the poor, charge excessive interest, and even confiscate their property, will face strict action.

He directed that strict monitoring should be maintained on criminals and anti -social elements.

He instructed the Station House Officers (SHOS) to personally monitor such persons, listen to complaints against them and ensure strict action.

The DGP emphasized that criminals should be classified into various groups to take over effectively monitoring and action.

Additional Director General of Police (Traffic and Highway) Hardeep Doon said that during a special campaign held from 5 to 14 September, a total of 30,603 challans were issued. These included action against drunk driving, noise pollution and other traffic violations.

Awareness campaigns were also organized during this period.

The DGP directed that the accidents should be identified and the necessary road safety measures should be taken there.

In addition, DGP Kapoor directed to spread awareness among the public about compliance with lane driving rules.

He said that traffic police officers and personnel should convince the public that vehicles should not be constantly operated in the lane, as fast lane meant only to overtake.

Keeping in mind the festival season, DGP Kapoor instructed the authorities to further strengthen the security system.

He said that high quality CCTV cameras should be installed to prevent accidents and criminal incidents in large fairs and temples where huge crowds gather.

If the crowd is more than the prescribed limit, the entry should be controlled at the main gate itself. He said that special monitoring should also be kept on suspected and anti -social elements.
