TN CM Stalin urged teachers to nurture students without pressure, launched new school projects

Chennai, 20 September (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday urged teachers across the state to avoid improper pressure on students and instead took care of the diverse circumstances of each house by guiding them through education and personal development.

Speaking at an event organized by the Department of School Education in Chennai, Stalin highlighted teachers important in shaping the future of children.

He said, “Psychological welfare and physical health are as important as the knowledge you provide. In today’s world, children often spend more time with their teachers than their parents.”

Stating that students come from various family backgrounds – from some educated homes and social and educationally disadvantaged groups – the Chief Minister said that teachers should understand the unique struggles of students and work as “other parents” by understanding the unique struggles of the students and supporting their development.

Stalin also underlined the importance of preparing children for the world run by Artificial Intelligence (AI).

“Students should not assume that Google or AI can provide all answers. Teachers should help them draw a line between technology and human mind. Beyond academics, you should establish moral values, encourage literary reading, create social awareness, and make students sensitive on environment and climate change,” he said.

Emphasizing innovation in education, he called upon teachers to experiment with digital platforms.

He said, “The way youtube takes many videos on important thinking and problems, you should create fresh materials that nourish the talents of the students. Your efforts will sow seeds for better tomorrow,” he said.
