The CM of Haryana says that Rahul Gandhi spreads wrong information to destabilize democratic institutions.

Chandigarh, September 20 (IANS) In a scary attack on the Congress, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday accused the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha of opposition, Rahul Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, of defaming the Election Commission and spreading misinformation to destroy democratic institutions.

He said that the opposition was resorting to lies and baseless allegations in an attempt to reduce public belief in India’s democratic process.

“The allegations he has made against the Election Commission is false and misleading. They repeatedly appear in front of the public and make statements that weaken democracy. Again and again false allegations have caused Rahul Gandhi’s habit of making false accusations and retrieved again,” the Chief Minister told the media here.

He said that Gandhi is making these baseless and false accusations only to protect the intruders and urban Naxalites. “The sole purpose of the Congress is to break the trust of the people in democracy, create unrest and destabilize India, while the BJP government is committed to protecting democracy unlike the Congress, which supports the intruders,” the Chief Minister said.

Presenting the facts, CM Saini said that Gandhi linked the voter list dispute with the current Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar during the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections, even though he was appointed in February 2025.

Inspiring the allegations factually wrong and politically, the Chief Minister asked why Gandhi was blaming the current Chief Election Commissioner for an incident in 2023.

The Congress really won from there in 2023, about the Aland Assembly Constituency in Karnataka, which Gandhi referred to.

CM Saini accused Gandhi of turning the facts to mislead the public. “An FIR has already been registered in this case. The Election Commission also provided mobile numbers and IP addresses. The investigation is currently being done by the CID in Karnataka of the Congress -led government.”

He asked the rhetoric whether Gandhi did not trust his party’s government and his investigation. CM Saini sarcastically stated that Gandhi named many people and claimed that his name was removed from the voter list.

“It clearly shows that he is making dangerous, inflammatory statements in the name of a particular religion. The objective is to divide the society. The country is seeing how the Congress is working to create a rift in the society in the name of caste and religion,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that India’s democracy is completely safe under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “Some unsuccessful people are trying to endanger by spreading chaos to hide their failures. Perhaps, this is the only way for them to maintain their political existence,” he said.
