Odisha Assembly postponed the issue of lack of fertilizer amid BJP’s opposition till Monday

Bhubaneswar, 20 September (IANS) On the third day of the monsoon session, the Odisha Legislative Assembly on Saturday reiterated the lack of fertilizer and black marketing in the state, forcing several adjournment.

Earlier in the day, as soon as a condolence was passed after the passage of question began, the members of the BJD caught the placards, the banner gave a storm to the well and began shouting slogans near the podium of the speaker Surma Paddi.

The speaker requested the opposition members to return to their seats and allow the House to work, but to no avail. Constant Pandmonium inspired Pandi to postpone the proceedings by 4 pm in the afternoon.

However, when the house was found again at 4 pm, the BJD MLAs threw them into the well and raised slogans against the government, alleging shortage of fertilizer of the state government, black marketing and anti-agricultural policies.

The chairman urged the members to maintain discipline, but the uproar continued without stopping. With the situation being unbearable, the speaker postponed the House till 10.30 am on Monday, 10.30 am.

The main protest BJP is demanding detailed discussion on the issue of fertilizer crisis by suspending all regular home proceedings.

The BJD has alleged that the state government has failed to provide adequate fertilizers to the farmers, which are being forced to buy at a lot of prices from the open market.

The party blamed the state government for fertilizer black marketing in Odisha.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the BJD party met the Governor of Odisha on Saturday evening to make them aware of the ongoing fertilizer crisis in the state.

Talking to media persons, senior BJD leader and opposition Deputy leader Prasanna Acharya alleged that despite the government’s claim of adequate fertilizer shares, Odisha farmers are facing a rapid shortage.

“If fertilizer is actually in stock, why are farmers queuing up in thousands of cooperative societies and not getting a single bag?” He questioned.

He said that the delegation urged the governor to intervene and direct the farmers to intervene to ensure timely availability of fertilizers.

According to Acharya, the governor assured that he was serious about the issue and would advise the state government to work immediately.

It is appropriate to mention here that the house proceedings were washed on Friday, on the second day of the monsoon session, as well as only eight to ten minutes of trade, lack of fertilizer in the state and the epidemic caused by members of the BJD on black marketing.
