Booking rates for Delhi stadiums were reduced to promote live events, live events

New Delhi, September 20 (IANS) is looking at the national and international live events and concerts in Delhi to give a new pace, the Central Government and the Sports Authority of India (SAI) have reduced the booking rates for all major stadiums by 40-50 percent, an official said on Saturday.

Delhi Arts, Culture and Languages ​​and Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra said: “Important steps have been taken to make Delhi the most incident -friendly city in India and convert it into a global center for live entertainment and concert economy.”

He said, “This historic decision has been taken today after widespread discussion with Union Minister Mansuh Mandavia and industry with two round table meetings. This step will be important in setting up Delhi as a center for the concert economy,” he said.

He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to make Delhi a center for live events and concert economy, but a discussion with the industry revealed that one of the major obstacles in achieving it was a high booking rate of stadiums.

Due to high booking rates, many event organizers preferred to organize events outside Delhi, in cities like Mumbai, Gurugram and Noida, he said.

Earlier in the month, Mishra met Mandavia to discuss the vision of making Delhi a ‘global event hub’. Senior representatives of the Event and Entertainment Management Association (EEMA) and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) also attended the meeting.

A Delhi -based government statement said that the major Delhi stadiums were discussed on reducing the fare rates and focusing on simplifying the event processes and Mandvia assured that all necessary measures would be taken to make Delhi a global center for cultural activities and live entertainment.

This decision will not only promote Delhi’s cultural and tourism activities, but will also increase employment opportunities and economic development, Mishra said.

In a message on X, Mishra said, “It has now become very easy to organize the program in major stadiums in Delhi. Sports Authority of India (SAI) has announced a significant reduction in booking fee for these stadiums.
