Karnataka: Congress slam

Bangalore, 19 September (IANS) denied the clarity of the Election Commission of India (ECI) and denied allegations about ‘vote chori’, including the Ministers of Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, RDPR, IT and BT Priyank Kharge and Alnd Mla Britil at a joint conference at a joint conference.

Talking to reporters in Bengaluru on Friday, Minister Priyank Kharge said, “After Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, the Election Commission is now speaking as if it was those who discovered and stopped voters fraud.

“On February 11, 2023, in Kalaburagi, Bran Patil and I held a press conference and revealed that 6,670 fake online applications were filed to remove the name from the list of voters.

On February 20, 2023, I wrote to the Chief Election Commissioner in Delhi on my official letterhead, complained about the process of voter deletion. Subsequently, Kalaburagi AC Mamta assured us of action, and an FIR was lodged on 21 February 2023. The copy clearly stated that based on BR Patil’s complaint, a case was registered about the illegal deletion of 6,670 voters from the Alund Constitution, “said Minister Kharge.

After the initial investigation, a returning officer said BR Patil’s allegations were correct. Of the 6,180 applications, only 24 were real; The remaining 5,994 voters did not request any request. The officials themselves admitted that they did not know how this happened. When the voters and Blosses were questioned, none of them knew how such requests were filed, Kharge accused.

When the technical details were examined, it was found that the mobile numbers used to enter the deletion requests were from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha. Further investigation is necessary. Officials said the investigation could continue if OTP, IP address and other technical details are provided. However, the Chief Election Commissioner falsely claimed that all the details had already been shared, Kharge slammed.

“… Cybercrime Division said that he had written 18 letters to the CEO in the last 18 months in search of OTP, mobile number, login details, IP addresses and device IDs, but had not received a single response,” he underlined.

“On February 4, 2025, the Chief Electoral Officer wrote to the Principal Secretary of the Election Commission mentioning the letters written between March 29, 2023 and 19 January 2025. Despite claiming that all the details were shared, why the CEO of Karnataka kept the letter writing?

Does the Election Commission also have basic understanding? Rahul Gandhi never said that the names of voters can be removed online. He only said that form number 7 was being misused. Nevertheless, the Commission is making false allegations, he said.

The EC claims that all the documents were presented till September 6, 2023.

If this was true, why more than 15 additional letters were written? Rahul Gandhi has questioned the Election Commission, but strangely, it is the BJP that is running to respond.

He said that leaders like Sambit Patra, Gajendra Singh, PC Mohan, Dinesh, Keshav Prasad Maurya, Kishan Singh, Vishnu Dev Singh and Ashok are jumping to protect the Commission.

When BR Patil exposed the matter in 2023, both the central and state governments were under the BJP rule. It was a BJP -appointed officer who wrote all these letters. Why is the Election Commission afraid to provide information? Earlier, EC worked well, but now it is acting like a puppet, he slammed.

Both Central and State Election Commissions have lied. They should give clarification about all these issues. Why the Karnataka Election Commission has lied a mystery, Kharge concluded.
