New Delhi, 19 September (IANS) Central Investigation Bureau (CBI) has arrested five accused for finding a big conspiracy in the selection of candidates in the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission 2020 and 2021 examinations.
The arrested accused include the then Secretary of Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) Jeevan Kishore Dhruv, Controller of Examinations of CGPSC, Aarti Wasnik, the then CGPSC Secretary, son of Deputy Collector Misha Kosle, Distaaw, Distin and Distran’s siblings. Then President of CGPSC.
The CBI recorded the case RC1242024A0004 on 16 February 2024, based on the information issued by the Government of Chhattisgarh, on the basis of information on 16 February 2024 and 10 April 2024.
“It has been alleged in the FIR that the then Chairman, CGPSC, the then Secretary, CGPSC and other persons of the Public Service Commission, Chhattisgarh held various positions in CGPSC, conducted the examination and interview during the year 2020 to 2022 and chose his son, daughter and relatives,” in a statement.
According to the CBI, for various posts in CGPSC for the year 2021, a total of 1,29,206 candidates appeared in the preliminary examination, out of which 2,548 candidates approved the preliminary examination.
A total of 509 approved the main examination and was selected to appear for the interview, while 170 candidates were selected for various posts in CGPSC 2021.
“In the said case, the then Chairman of CGPSC, the then deputy controller of the exam, CGPSC, with four selected candidates and a private person, have already been arrested. They are all in judicial custody. All the five accused are to be produced before the Honorable Court to take police remand in the case,” said this.
Further investigation is underway to investigate the role of other suspected candidates, who were selected in the CGPSC examination.
