MP Minister Vishwas Sarang joins traders in Narela to promote ‘Swadeshi’ initiative

Bhopal, 19 September (IANS) Madhya Pradesh minister and senior BJP leader Vishwas Sarang on Friday attended a local campaign in Narela assembly constituency to adopt ‘Swadeshi’ products. The initiative aligns on his birthday with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent appeal, urging citizens to choose domestic products to help India become a developed nation by 2047.

In Narela, traders have led only by promising to stock and sell indigenous goods in their shops. To spread awareness, many shops have displayed clear lists distinguishing between indigenous and foreign products.

Speaking to IANS, Sarang said: “The effort is to encourage the public to move more and more towards Swadeshi. After the Prime Minister’s call, the traders have taken the initiative seriously. They have kept the list of indigenous and foreign goods in their shops.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of choosing locally made products during the upcoming festive season while addressing a public meeting on his 75th birthday in Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

“This is the season of festivals, and at this time, we should focus on the mantra of Swadeshi. I have a humble request for my 140 crore fellow countrymen – whatever you buy should be made in our country. It should take the sweat and hard work of an Indian. It should take the aroma of the soil of our motherland,” he said.

PM Modi appealed to the merchant community to lead for example.

He said, “I especially appeal to my business brothers and sisters-support me in this effort. Stand with me for the betterment of the nation. I want to see India to become a developed country by 2047. The path of that goal is through self-sufficient India and a self-sufficient India.”
