ABVP won the DUSU elections by winning the President, 2 positions; NSUI gets VP

New Delhi, 19 September (IANS) Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Rashtriya Wing’s Student Wing, Friday, left the President’s post for the post of President for the post of President.

Rahul Jhansla of NSUI claimed the position of the Vice President. The other two winning candidates of ABVP are Kunal Chaudhary (Secretary) and Deepika Jha (Joint Secretary).

NSUI candidates Josalin Nandita Chaudhary’s new DUSU president-election Aryan Mann secured 28,841 votes compared to 12,645 votes. He will take a top job from Ronak Khatri of NSUI who won the post last year.

As soon as the counting of votes ended on Friday, NSUI got 29,339 votes for the post of Vice President and ABVP got 20,547 votes. For the post of Secretary, ABVP secured 23,779 votes and NSUI got 16,177. In the competition for the job of Joint Secretary, ABVP got 21,825 votes and NSUI secured 17,380 votes.

More than 1.55 lakh students voted in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) election on Thursday, which was associated with allegations of violence and rigging.

Apart from the 2025 Dusu pole, the set that was set was the prominence of women candidates in the race for the top post, a development that has not been seen in the campus in about two decades. Nupur Sharma of ABVP was the last woman to handle the office of DUSU Chairman in 2008-09.

On Thursday, two shifts were voted in the morning and evening. The phase of the morning started at a dull speed at 8.30 am, but before the end of 1 pm in the evening, the polling stations and departments increased, eight colleges were voted between 3 pm and 7.30 pm.

The total voting was seen at 39.45 percent at all 52 centers with 195 booths equipped with 711 EVMs. More than 2.75 lakh students from more than 50 colleges of Delhi University were eligible to vote in Dasu elections.

Dusu was nine candidates in the field for the President’s position. There were 12 candidates in the competition for the other three posts of Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary.

NSUI presidential candidate Josalin Nandita Chaudhary, who was a postgraduate student of Buddhist studies, focused on her campaign on the demand for hostels, safety of the campus and monthly holiday.

SFI-Aisa Compine Compined Anjali, a student of Indraprastha College for Women, for the presidency, and he campaigned on issues of gender sensitization, fee increase and reinstatement of grievance redressal mechanisms.
