New Delhi, 19 September (IANS) The high priest of Bageshwar Dham, Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has given strong support for the state of Bundelkhand and urged the government to take immediate action on stray cattle, demand shelters for them.
Talking to reporters in Chhatpur, Madhya Pradesh, Pandit Dhirendra Shastri remarked: “If Bundelkhand had become a separate state, it would definitely bring great development, progress and pace in the region. However, for such a decision, the country has its own government and laws, and intelligent people will call according to the authority.”
The spiritual leader expressed deep concern over the condition of cows in Madhya Pradesh and Bundelkhand, calling it a matter of “misfortune” for Hindu and Indian society on a large scale.
He said, “This is the greatest misfortune for Bundelkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Hindus that the cow, whom we give reverence as a mother, is seen wandering on the streets,” he said.
He urged the government to build 5-10 large singing per district, which keep wandering cattle at home and prevent both social discomfort and religious sins.
“If each gaushed can take 4,000-5,000 cattle homes, about 40,000-50,000 cows can be adjusted. It will clean the roads of cows, provide them with shelter and stop sin,” Shastri said.
In a strong message on national unity and patriotism, he stressed: “It is necessary for nationalist and Rama to move forward together. It is the duty of every Indian to show patriotism. We believe that the national anthem should be sung in temples, churches, mosques and temples of India, which should be jointly united once a week.”
He also greeted the Annapurna Ramlila Committee, which is celebrating her 75th Amrit Mahotsav this year.
Announcing a prominent upcoming religious event, Shastri said: “From 7 to 16 November, a Padyatra will be held from Adya Katyani Mata Matir of Delhi to Banke Bihari in Vrindavan. More than 140 kilometers away in 10 days, this spiritual journey will pass through Delhi, Haryana, Haryana, and Utta Pradesh.”
He said that millions of devotees from across India including Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Uttar Pradesh are expected to participate in the yatra, which is one of the largest spiritual meetings of the year.
