Siddharthnagar, September 18 (IANS) responding to the allegations made by the leader of the leader (LOP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, about the vote deletion in “systemic” Congress-supporting booths, Bharti Janata Party (BJP) MPDambika Pal said that it is not, it was selected as an MP.
Speaking to IANS, Jagdambika Pal said, “The ECI is asking for frequent evidence. He has clearly stated that he is neither with the ruling party nor the opposition – they are neutral. If ECI was biased, how is Rahul Gandhi MP today?”
He said that the opposition’s fight is not against illegal voters against the special intensive amendment (SIR) initiative.
He said, “This is not a fight against the head; it is an illegal fight against Bangladeshis and Rohingyas. Foreigners cannot be voters. For more than 18 years every Indian citizen, regardless of caste or religion, has the right to vote,” he said.
Pal also said that ECI is identifying and removing the names of deceased persons and illegal foreigners from the voter list.
“When asked for evidence, they (opposition) failed to provide any. Instead, they are misleading people by making explosive claims. Rahul Gandhi said that he would give up a ‘hydrogen bomb’, but when the ECI demanded a written evidence, he had nothing,” he said.
He said, “Rahul Gandhi should apologize to the people of the country. Earlier, he blamed EVMs, now he is blaming ECI and crying on ‘vote theft’. His issue has been removed not with the system but illegal voters have been removed.”
Earlier on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi launched a recent aggressive launch on ECI, claiming that votes were being removed from the Congress booths through a fake login made through a ‘centralized system’.
However, he was thoughtful on following this with ECI to follow it or take legal support for ‘irregularities and wrongdoings’ under the pole panel clock.
Meanwhile, ECI dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of collective voter deletion in Karnataka’s Aland assembly constituency as ‘baseless and wrong’.
