Nagaland CM Launches ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’

Kohima, 17 September (IANS) Nagaland Chief Minister NeePhu Rio on Wednesday called for collective efforts towards universal health coverage to ensure that no one left behind any healthy and more prosperous future journey.

The Chief Minister said that in Nagaland, the campaign will focus on health and nutrition for women, adolescent girls and children. He said that the objectives of ‘Health Nari, Sashkat Parivar Abhiyan’ (Health Campaign for Women and Children) include strengthening early identification and treatment relations for diseases, providing necessary health services at the grassroots level and encouraging families to adopt healthy lifestyle. Health camps will be organized across the state, screening for non-communicable diseases, breeding and child health care, nutrition and menstrual hygiene awareness, tuberculosis screening and counseling, and services such as mental health assistance, and mental health assistance will be offered.

The state level launch of the nation -level program was with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the Chief Minister exposed the campaign as part of the vision of India 2047, who was developed to change India in the nation developed by the centenary of independence.

The campaign run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is aimed at strengthening women’s health and nutrition, empowering families and building healthy communities. The campaign in Nagaland will be done in 523 health units across Nagaland including 12 district hospitals.

Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (NIMSR), with private hospitals and clinics, will play an active role in providing expert services during the campaign.

Accepting the central role of women’s health and empowerment of women in shaping families and communities, the Chief Minister recognized the contribution of doctors, nurses, Asha, Anganwadi workers and community volunteers, which creates the backbone of the dedication program.

Commissioner and Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Anoop Khinchi, said that ‘Health Nari Sashkat Parivar Abhiyan (SNSPA)’ represents a historical initiative designed to strengthen health services for women and children across the country through better reach, better quality care, and increase in awareness.

With more than one lakh health camps being organized across the country, this is the largest health of its kind. Emphasizing preventive health and nutrition, the initiative aims to reduce maternal and child mortality and to contribute to the widespread national vision of building flexible families under Vikasat India 2047.

As part of the program, Chief Minister Rio also launched an integrated public health laboratory at the district hospital Dimapur and District Hospital Som.

In addition, he flagged off the vehicles of the newly developed ambulances, horsepower and rapid response team to strengthen healthcare distribution in the state. Forticulture-Lumb campaign is going on from 17 September to 2 October, concluding on Gandhi Jayanti.
