New Delhi, 17 September (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is 75 years old today. Born on 17 September 1950 in Mehsana Town, Gujarat, he served as the Chief Minister of the state for three consecutive terms between 2001 and 2014.
He is now the Prime Minister for the third term after being elected in 2014. On his birthday, PM Modi has spent time in the past, interacting with citizens, starting welfare schemes or participating in public initiative. He never hosted individual celebrations. However, like every year, the BJP has launched the ‘Seva Pakhwar’ to mark the PM’s birthday to demonstrate its commitment to the welfare of citizens.
Today, PM Modi is in Madhya Pradesh, where he will start the ‘Health Nari Sashkat Parivar’ and ‘8th Rashtria Pokhan Month’ campaign. It is the largest health outreach for women and children in the country.
PM Modi is praised for several reasons, and one of them has immense respect for the culture and heritage of India. He is also known for his campaign for innovation for the future of the nation.
In 2047, the PM’s integral dream for a developed India operates innovation as the foundation stone for India’s visit to India. Under his leadership, the country is watching a development from a technology consumer to a global leader, especially when it comes to innovation. This vision is enabled Indian researchers, institutions and startups to contribute to future technologies.
Since assuming office as Prime Minister in 2014, PM Modi has given a lot of emphasis on the government. To make it more efficient, his government has greatly trusted technology. What is the policy-making of digitally strong system and data, what is the rule today. It has become more effective and has managed to cut disability, red tape and delay. Before PM Modi came to power, there were complaints about state distribution services that he was caught in a web of delay and red tape.
The PM has instructed the officials to take out all the bottlenecks and change the old regime with a civil-centered solution. They have often emphasized the need to use technology up to maximum to provide better governance. The use of technology has been accepted by technical giants worldwide. Tesla Boss, Elon Musk, once said, “I am a fan of PM Modi.”
One of the biggest changes that the country has seen under PM Modi is one of the way the nation pays. Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been a major success and has made millions of people easier. Success can be measured when one sees the data of June 2025. That month, UPI performed more than Rs 24.03 lakh crore in the transaction.
During the Kovid -19 epidemic, his leadership was appreciated not only by Indians but also by world leaders. Once again, the PM emphasized technology during those difficult times. The coin emerged as a benchmark for platform vaccines. Thanks to this portal, the process was smooth, and more than 950 million citizens were administered with vaccines.
PM Modi is also insisting for semiconductor initiative. They have emphasized the need to reduce dependence on imports and become self -sufficient. With several initiatives rolling out, India’s semiconductor market is expected to reach USD 110 billion by 2030. In August 2025, the government approved four more semiconductor units with a outlay of Rs 4,600 crore. It took a total of ten such projects, and will be spread in six states and will strengthen India’s position in the global semiconductor market. The PM had said that semiconductors are digital diamonds of the modern era.
During his campaign in the 2014 elections, talking about development, innovation, governance and technology, he laid considerable emphasis on security. It was the days when India had seen the blasts many times. Groups like Indian Mujahideen conducted easily.
However, under PM Modi, security agencies were given an independent hand and strictly revealed that he believes in a zero-assessment policy towards terror. Groups like Indian Mujahideen were erased. The number of explosions became almost zero.
Under his leadership, it was also decided to take the fight to the Naxalites. The first emphasis was on detecting funding and blocking it. There was a huge emphasis for the development of infrastructure in Naxal-hit areas. This included the development of roads and communication. When people started taking advantage, they stopped helping the Naxalites.
Security forces also benefited from these initiatives, which helped them to take the fight more effectively for the Naxalites. In addition, the Modi government ensured that there was proper coordination between central and state agencies. It was also added to success in the fight, and India is scheduled to be Naxal-free by March 2026.
Another difficult stand was the cancellation of Article 370. This was important in terms of safety, development and integration. While the article was canceled, PM Modi, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, ensured that peace remained in Jammu and Kashmir. This was eventually achieved, and the result was improved, no stone unturned, development, and, even more importantly, the end of separatism.
After the Mumbai 26/11 attacks, questions were raised about the lack of action against Pakistan. However, under the leadership of PM Modi, India attacked a surgical strike post the URI. After the Pulwama attack, Balkot Air Strike was carried out at a Jaish-e-Mohammed convenience. This time, the Indian Air Force entered Pakistan airspace and hit the facility.
After the Pahgam attack, the reaction operation came as vermilion. India targeted both Pakistan-occupied Kashmir as well as Pakistan. In a 30-minute operation, the Indian armed forces reduced the goals, including the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the main training facility of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Operation also blew up a large part of Masood Azhar’s family.
Under his leadership, India has taken a huge jump in terms of technology, governance and innovation.
As an officer kept it after the Balkot aerial attack. “Research and analysis wing mapped the convenience 16 years ago, but needed courage to hit it.”
