It comes in the same week as the latest part of the government’s funded childcare rollout. By 1 September, the eligible working parents in England are capable of using free childcare for 30 hours a week for children over nine months of age.

Jane Van Zil, CEO of working families said: “Quality, cheap childcare is one of the biggest obstacles to work, so the step is that the participation of the labor market to make it more accessible will also promote the income of the family.

“For parents with school-age children, co-located nursery provisions can make daily logistics more manageable, which makes the real difference in working life.”

Purnima Tanuku, the executive president of the National Day Nurseries Association, welcomed the construction of more elementary education places, but said that school nurseries still offer a small minority from only early years.

Earlier this week, the National Foundation for Educational Research (NFER) warned that the challenges of the workforce should be addressed to ensure the initial years to ensure that employees can be recruited and maintained to meet the demand for full rollout of childcare extension.

While the increase in the number of employees is currently “on track” to meet the government’s estimated goals for childcare expansion, the NFR report warns that it is “not necessarily released”.
