Cold War goes up to auction near Bunker Bristol: ‘Integrated Underground Room’

Web Desk, 03/09/2025

A unique piece of the history of the Cold War, designed to face the nuclear explosion, is ready to go under the hammer. It is perfect for subtrenian housing, a Doomsde preper, only makes a low starting bid of £ 20,000.

Its entrance is located in the middle of the Blackberry Bumble on a hill in Hollen village, which looks at the fields of the farm and the Sevarn Muhana river. However, the underground chamber itself does not provide any external view.

This bunker is one of the about 1,500 shelters, built in the UK for a civil defense organization Royal Observer Corps. Their purpose was to monitor the explosion waves and declines from nuclear attacks, which are never, never came. Most now sit empty, although they sometimes come to resale and are sold to the public in the 1990s.

Last year, a bunker listed for minimum 15,000 pounds sold for £ 48,000 at Yorkshire Delles National Park in Northern. EnglandBuyers later planned to convert it into a tourist attraction.

From the outside, the remains are more eye light than the architectural surprise – just a few steps and a block of concrete protects the entrance with a chain. Inside, not much to see.
